Under Rug Swept is Morissette's most fully self-authored album: she wrote every song alone, with no co-writers, and produced the record herself for the first time. It marked a clean break from the Glen Ballard partnership of her two previous albums. Her solo production work was recognized with a Jack Richardson Producer of the Year win at the Junos.
