Starboy, released in November 2016, was The Weeknd's most ambitious album to that point, an 18-track collection that opened with two collaborations with Daft Punk and covered a wide range of moods from party anthems to dark confessionals. Tesfaye co-wrote all 18 tracks, with the Daft Punk co-productions 'Starboy' and 'I Feel It Coming' featuring writing contributions from Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The title track spent a week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and dominated international charts. Kendrick Lamar appeared on 'Sidewalks,' co-writing his own verse, giving the album one of its more notable hip-hop collaborations. Starboy debuted at number one in ten countries and was certified nine times platinum in the United States, making it one of the biggest-selling albums of 2016-2017.
