By the Numbers
Sixteen tracks, all Corgan's alone, and the first album with no other member credited anywhere. The band was down to three people and the record leans on electronics rather than guitars. It sold a quarter of what Mellon Collie did.
Adore came out on Virgin in June 1998, made without Jimmy Chamberlin and largely with drum machines, and sold 1,200,000 in the United States. "Ava Adore" reached number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100.
