Come with Us was written and produced by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, continuing their electronica direction with sample-built tracks. Two songs hand the vocals to guests: Richard Ashcroft of the Verve sings the closer "The Test," and Beth Orton returns for "The State We're In." The rest of the album, including the single "Star Guitar," is the duo's own instrumental work.
The Chemical Brothers' fourth studio album, released January 28, 2002. Beth Orton returns as a featured vocalist on 'The State We're In', and Richard Ashcroft of The Verve appears on the closing track 'The Test'. The album contains a credit for the late Polish rock musician Czesław Niemen on 'The Test', indicating a sample from his catalog.
