All twelve tracks carry the band credit, the fifth album to do so. Mike Sapone produced again after Happiness Is, and the writing is documented no further than the group name, so nothing in the credits distinguishes the heartland rock turn the record takes from anything before it.
Tidal Wave came out on Hopeless in September 2016 and is the last album with founding guitarist Eddie Reyes, who left the band in 2018. It is the longest record they have made at 47:50.
