The Woman in Me marks the start of Shania Twain's defining authorship pattern: she and Mutt Lange co-wrote almost every track, the two names sitting together across nearly the entire credit list. Two songs break the pattern, 'You Win My Love' written by Lange alone and 'Leaving Is the Only Way Out' written by Twain alone, but the album otherwise establishes the tight two-writer model that runs through her peak years.
The Woman in Me is the second studio album by Shania Twain, released in February 1995 and the first made with producer and co-writer Robert John 'Mutt' Lange. The record launched the writing-and-production partnership that would define her career, with Twain and Lange co-writing nearly every track and Lange producing the whole album. Polished and radio-ready, it broke her in the United States behind a run of hit singles including 'Any Man of Mine' and 'Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?'. It won the Grammy for Best Country Album and sold over twelve million copies in the United States, transforming Twain from a debut artist into a country superstar.
