Afanasieff's presence is the only thing that separates this album from the first in credit terms, which makes the difference in sound a production decision rather than a change in who was writing.

Affirmation is Savage Garden's second and final studio album, released on 1 November 1999 and produced entirely by Walter Afanasieff. Fourteen tracks including 'I Knew I Loved You', their second US number one, plus 'The Animal Song' and 'Crash and Burn'. The duo split two years later.
