Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight self-produced A Moment Apart and co-wrote every track, working with featured vocalists Naomi Wild (Higher Ground), WYNNE and Mansionair (Line of Sight), Leon Bridges (Across the Room), The Chamanas (Everything at Your Feet), Regina Spektor (Just a Memory), Kelsey Bulkin (Divide), Sasha Sloan (Falls), and RY X (Corners of the Earth). The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and topped the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart; it received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 60th Grammy Awards and the title track became widely known as the opening theme for the video game Forza Horizon 4.
A Moment Apart is the third studio album by ODESZA, released in September 2017 on Counter Records and produced by Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2019, marking ODESZA's arrival as one of electronic music's most critically acclaimed acts. Featuring vocalist Regina Spektor, Naomi Wild, Leon Bridges, and others, the record pushed their sound toward more epic, orchestral arrangements while maintaining the emotional intimacy of their earlier work. The lead single 'Line of Sight' and the sweeping 'A Moment Apart' established the album's grand but heartfelt aesthetic. A Moment Apart is widely considered ODESZA's masterpiece, a record that fully realized the potential suggested by everything they had made before.
