Data Insight

Jordan writes on thirteen of the fifteen tracks and two of them alone, the joint most in his catalogue. He is a writer before he is a star here: the record was made by a Pepperdine graduate who had been working the Los Angeles circuit since 1991.

The debut came out on Def Jam in April 1995 and its title track went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for seven weeks. The single is certified 5x platinum.
