By the Numbers
Ten of the sixteen tracks credit Ludacris, and he is the only name on five of them. Where a second writer appears it is a guest rapper writing his own verse, Pastor Troy or 4-Ize or UGK, or Pharrell Williams on "Southern Hospitality". The six blanks are the three skits plus "Ho", "Catch Up" and "Phat Rabbit", none of which carries a writing credit on the Def Jam pressing. Bangladesh produces five of the sixteen, with Timbaland and the Neptunes taking one each.
Back for the First Time is Ludacris's major label debut, released in October 2000 through Def Jam South and Disturbing tha Peace. It reworks much of Incognegro with new production and guests including Pharrell Williams, UGK, Shawnna and Pastor Troy. The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 with 133,000 sold in its first week and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA in May 2002.
