Data Insight

Norman Fucking Rockwell! is built almost entirely on a single partnership: Lana Del Rey wrote all the lyrics and co-wrote most of the album with Jack Antonoff, who also produced it. The composer column narrows to that duo on most tracks, with Rick Nowels returning on a few and a Sublime cover ('Doin' Time') the lone outside song. It is the clearest snapshot of her authorship working through one trusted collaborator.

Norman Fucking Rockwell!, often abbreviated NFR!, is the fifth major-label studio album by Lana Del Rey, released in August 2019 and widely regarded as her finest work. It marked the start of her partnership with producer Jack Antonoff, whose warm, piano-and-guitar-led production drew on 1970s Laurel Canyon soft rock and Californian psychedelia. Lana Del Rey wrote all of the lyrics, co-writing mostly with Antonoff and Rick Nowels, on songs ranging from the sprawling nine-minute 'Venice Bitch' to the spare 'Hope Is a Dangerous Thing.' The album was a critical landmark, topping numerous best-of-2019 and best-of-the-decade lists and earning Album of the Year and Song of the Year Grammy nominations. It is certified platinum in the United States.
