Ice Spice, credited as Isis Gaston, writes and raps her own verses on every track, and RIOTUSA, the Bronx producer Ephrem Lopez Jr., produced or co-produced all ten songs and shares the composer credit on each. Y2K! is the debut studio album by Bronx rapper Ice Spice, released July 26, 2024 on 10K Projects and Capitol Records. It is a short record, ten tracks and about twenty-three minutes, built on Bronx drill and Jersey club beats from her main collaborator RIOTUSA, who produced or co-produced every song. Ice Spice writes and delivers all of her own verses, with guest raps from Travis Scott on 'Oh Shhh...', Gunna on 'Bitch I'm Packin', and Central Cee on 'Did It First'. The title nods to late-1990s and early-2000s culture, and 'Gimmie a Light' leans into it directly by sampling Sean Paul's 2002 hit 'Gimme the Light'. The album debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with 28,000 first-week units, and a deluxe edition, Y2K!: I'm Just a Girl, followed on December 25, 2024.
