Drink the Sea is the debut studio album by The Glitch Mob, released in May 2010 on Glass Air and self-produced by The Glitch Mob. The album introduced the Los Angeles trio's distinctive brand of bass-heavy, melodically rich electronic music that drew from glitch, dubstep, trip-hop, and cinematic orchestral influences in equal measure. The immersive, headphones-designed sound and the album's sense of emotional grandeur gave it an unusual depth for instrumental electronic music, earning it devoted critical praise and a fanatically loyal fanbase. Tracks like 'Drive It Like You Stole It,' 'Bad Wings,' and 'Between Two Points' became anthems of a certain strain of late-night internet culture in the early 2010s. Drink the Sea is widely regarded as a masterpiece of instrumental electronic music and one of the defining albums of its era.
