Double Dutchess, released eleven years after her debut, was co-written by Fergie across its tracks during a long, troubled production. She worked with a wide set of producers and writers, and the album features guests such as Nicki Minaj on "You Already Know" and Rick Ross on "Hungry." "Double Dutchess" is the 2017 second solo studio album from Fergie, the female vocalist of the Black Eyed Peas, built primarily on hip-hop with pop, R&B, jazz, reggae, and alternative rock influences. Released on September 22, 2017, it arrived 11 years after "The Dutchess" and was the first album issued through her own imprint, Dutchess Music, in partnership with Retrofuture Productions and BMG Rights Management. The album was preceded by the singles "L.A. Love (La La)" featuring YG, which reached number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "M.I.L.F. $," which peaked at number 34, along with "You Already Know" featuring Nicki Minaj. Production came from a roster that included will.i.am, Polow da Don, DJ Mustard, Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Alesso, Toby Gad, and RoccStar, with guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, YG, Rick Ross, and her son Axl Jack. "Double Dutchess" debuted and peaked at number 19 on the Billboard 200 with 21,000 first-week units, topped the UK R&B Albums and New Zealand Heatseeker charts, and addressed themes of motherhood, personal strength, and emotional vulnerability.
