The Authorship Story
Data Insight
The Page and Robertson partnership is the whole first half of the catalogue. Across the eight albums up to 2007 Page has 95 credits and Robertson 83, and most of those are the same tracks: the two wrote together rather than separately. Page leaves in 2009 and the arithmetic changes rather than collapses. Robertson picks up 53 of the 81 later tracks, Kevin Hearn's share climbs to 34 across the catalogue, and Fake Nudes in 2017 is the only album where Hearn writes more than Robertson. Outside help arrives too: Stephen Duffy co-wrote nine tracks in the nineties and Kevin Griffin fifteen after 2013, which is the closest the band gets to a professional co-writer.
